Granville Island English Bay Pale Ale (BC) – “Our ENGLISH BAY PALE ALE has a smooth, mild flavour brimming with West Coast character and a caramel malt aroma. A true pale ale, it gets its perfect balance from natural carbonation and careful maturing under the watchful eye of our brewmaster.” (website)Granville Island Cypress Honey Lager (BC) – “Brewed in small batches, our CYPRESS HONEY LAGER is lightly hopped, mild and bright, and given a hint of sweetness with pure Fraser Valley honey. It’s like a refreshing blast of Cypress Mountain air.” (website)

Gilbert PICQ & ses Fils – Chablis 2008 (AC) (France) – “This classic, pure, stainless steel-fermented Chablis is a steal. The Picq family knows that quality begins in the vineyard and through careful training and pruning, they have given their “regular” cuvée the breeding of a premier cru. Didier Picq keeps yields very low, so the wine is always nervy, flinty, and minerally. Even the village Chablis can age effortlessly for 10 to 20 years!” (Polaner Selections website)
Rated: 89 by Stephen Tanzer, Jul/Aug 10 – Stephen Tanzer’s International Wine Cellar – ‘Bright, pale yellow. Smoky oyster shell, lemon confiture, tangerine, minerals and an almost petrol-like riesling note on the nose. Rich and supple, but with strong acidity giving superb cut to the citrus and mineral flavors. Finishes dry and riesling-like. This would make a great accompaniment for oysters or scallops.’ Expert Ratings; Robert Parker’s Wine Advocate: 89 points
